What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at Downtown Endoscopy Center?
The Downtown Endoscopy Center in Columbus, OH is looking for a full-time registered nurse to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.
The RN is responsible for the care of the patient either pre-op, intra-procedure, or post-op for upper endoscopies and/or colonoscopies with moderate sedation.
No weekends or holidays, hours may vary slightly, but can generally be between 7:30am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Pre-procedure duties including admission, patient assessment, establishing IV access, and educating patient on procedure.
- Intra-op duties include transporting the patient to the procedure room, sedating the patient, and monitoring vital signs during the procedure. RN also assists with collecting and labeling specimens as needed.
- PACU duties include continuous assessment, monitoring of the patient, and educating the patient and support person at discharge.
- Telemetry knowledge and experience a plus
- Maintains quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Great interpersonal skills, collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Performs pre-procedure phone calls, instructs patient on bowel preps
- Performs follow up patient calls, ability to triage calls when needed
