Overview
Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, including patient assessment and medical/dental history review, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Deliver high-quality general dentistry services such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and preventive care tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Conduct complex procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and aseptic technique.
- Utilize dental imaging technology and interpret medical imaging results to inform treatment decisions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation, medical records, and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Apply infection control protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Stay current with advances in dental terminology, techniques, and technology to enhance clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Valid license to practice dentistry in the applicable jurisdiction with eligibility for state-specific credentials.
- Proven experience in dental office or dental clinic settings, demonstrating proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
- Expertise in pediatric dentistry, including working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) and understanding their unique needs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, medical imaging techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental fabrication processes.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate treatment options clearly.
