We believe safe, healthy housing is the foundation for strong, equitable communities and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to help us deliver on that mission.
The Role
As a key member of our finance team, you’ll handle day-to-day accounting functions and help keep our financial systems running smoothly. You’ll work closely with our Finance Director and a team of three accountants to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in everything from tenant payments to vendor invoices.

What You’ll Do
- Manage accounts receivable, including tenant payments and security deposits.
- Process invoices and payables through Bill.com, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with policies.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare journal entries for cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Maintain accurate records in Sage Intacct, integrated with Yardi and Fortress property management systems.
- Assist with financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) and annual audits.
- Support special projects and help identify ways to streamline and improve accounting operations.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in accounting or bookkeeping is a plus.
- At least two years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience; experience in nonprofit or property management settings is a plus.
- Comfortable using accounting and property management software; experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Yardi, or Fortress is a plus.
- Strong skills in Excel and attention to detail.
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
What We Offer
- Compensation: $50,000–$55,000 annually for a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek. Relevant bookkeeping, accounting support, nonprofit, and property management experience will be considered when determining placement within the range.
- Benefits: Competitive package including health and dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, paid holidays and PTO, life insurance, and short-term disability.
- Flexibility: Hybrid remote/office schedule available after the introductory period.
- Culture: A mission-driven, supportive workplace that values diversity, collaboration, and community impact.
