Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards
- Assist dentists during chairside procedures, including handing instruments, managing dental materials, and supporting with dental x-ray procedures using advanced equipment such as scanners and digital imaging systems
- Take vital signs, medical history updates, and document medical records accurately in patient management software while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating documentation, and ensuring smooth patient management through Open Dental.
- Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control policies during all clinical activities
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and general dentistry procedures to enhance their understanding of oral health maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to dental sterilization procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy relevant to dentistry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and scanners is a plus
- Ability to operate patient management software Open Dental effectively
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members
- Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while managing sensitive medical records
- Certification or training in dental assisting mandatory
