Gas Station/Convenience Store Manager

Job Summary

Duties

• Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and staff management
• Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members, ensuring alignment with company standards and values
• Develop employee orientation programs and ongoing training to enhance team performance and product knowledge
• Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures accurately and efficiently
• Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, merchandising, and stock replenishment to maximize profitability
• Implement effective marketing initiatives to attract customers and boost sales
• Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers through phone etiquette, conflict resolution, and personalized service
• Monitor store metrics such as retail math (sales per square foot), inventory levels, and budget adherence to meet business goals
• Conduct regular shift management duties including scheduling, supervising cashiering activities, and ensuring store cleanliness and safety compliance

Experience

• Proven management experience in a retail environment with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong background in retail sales management, merchandising, inventory management, and POS systems
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, team leadership, training & development, and customer service excellence
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting performance evaluations
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, budgeting, and retail math principles
• Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail outlets preferred
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication skills along with phone etiquette expertise for engaging with customers and team members alike
