Position:   10 month Administrative Assistant - Receptionist/Clerical
Locations: Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center
Pay Rate: $16.47 per hour
Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, 210 days per year (10-months)

Job Summary:   To assist in ensuring that all students attend school on a regular basis and to provide timely and accurate student attendance reports to the faculty and to the State Board of Education for determining fund allocations to the school.  To greet and assist students, faculty, employees, and visitors in the main lobby, and to assist in the efficient operation of the office.  

Qualifications:  To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.  

 
  1. High school diploma
  2. Ability to operate a computer and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets
  3. Bookkeeping/record keeping skills
  4. Effective interpersonal skills
  5. Strong written and communication skills
  6. Excellent clerical skills
  7. Proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management, communication, and research
  8. Ability to operate multi-user telephone system
  9. Ability to work independently and have excellent organizational skills
  10. Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
  11. Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment

 Duties & Responsibilities:(Abbreviated - Please review the attached Job Description for more details on this specific opportunity) 
  1. Prepares and prints attendance – corrects lates and absences on the computer
  2. Generates 60, 120, and 180 day attendance reports.  Prepares student reports, overdue excuse cards, homeroom lists, perfect attendance, or other reports as needed
  3. Checks on students who are missing from class and notifies administrator
  4. Answers telephone calls and assists anyone who enters the office with questions, requests, etc.
  5. Assists teachers with questions and information on students and assists, as needed, parents, students, guidance, and administrators
  6. Notifies Attendance Officer of student’s refusal to come to school
  7. Enters attendance into computer for teachers or substitutes, as needed, for every period throughout the day
  8. Issues late slips and early dismissal passes to students
  9. Generates daily bulletin and delivers to each classroom
  10. Enters attendance for field trips and gathers contact information of teachers on the trip
  11. Maintains schedule of bus arrivals and forwards information to Transportation Department
  12. Prepares and maintains student attendance folders, filing all notes for each student, making corrections as needed due to information from parents and teachers
  13. Generates and investigates discrepancies in daily attendance due to errors in period attendance
  14. Calls students from class as requested by Administrators
  15. Sorts and distributes U.S. mail
  16. Provides clerical assistance to the office staff as requested by administrators
  17. Maintains and files hard copies of student schedules
  18. Tracks daily early dismissals; calls students from class when needed, and enters returning students’ information into current software system
  19. Creates and maintains position procedure outline to describe day to day duties of the position/department as needed.

Eligibility - No Waiting Period

New Hires or Newly Eligible
You have 31 days from the date that you are benefit eligible to make your elections. If you do not make elections during this time, you will only be enrolled into any benefit that is provided by the District at no cost to you.

Life Benefit
Pays 1 x your basic annual salary up to maximum of $60,000

Income Protection Benefit
Pays 60% of your basic monthly pay, up to $1,500 per month

 

Paid Time Off

 
  • 10 sick days annually
  • 3 personal days annually for full-time employees; 2 annually for part-time
  • 9 paid holidays per year
 

Tuition Reimbursement
Pro-rated 75% of tuition if grade of ‘B’ or better is attained; limit 12 credits per year.
