Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention and stabilization for patients across various scenarios.
- Assess patient conditions through thorough physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and comprehensive patient assessments.
- Administer basic life support (BLS) interventions including airway management, oxygen therapy, and medication administration as needed.
- Perform advanced procedures such as venipuncture, injections, and critical care interventions under protocol.
- Operate ambulances safely while adhering to all traffic laws; perform heavy lifting during patient loading and unloading with proper technique.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, vital signs, medications administered, and incident details following aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with hospital staff during triage and handoff processes at Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers to ensure seamless patient transfer.
Skills
- Proven EMT experience with knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and medical terminology.
- Critical care experience preferred, especially within hospital or ICU settings; familiarity with trauma center procedures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and the principles of patient assessment and vital signs interpretation.
- Experience in airway management techniques and administering injections or medications in urgent situations.
- Ability to perform physical examinations accurately and utilize DME (Durable Medical Equipment) effectively during transport.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean record; capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with emergency response.
- Knowledge of venipuncture procedures, aseptic techniques, and emergency room operations enhances your ability to deliver top-tier patient care.
