Down Maine Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. This is a part-time position ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on animal care, teamwork, and a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with bathing
- Safely holding and restraining patients for veterinarians and technicians
- Cleaning and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, and common spaces
- Laundry duties (towels, bedding, gowns)
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels
- Walking and caring for hospitalized
- General housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe clinic
- Providing basic patient care and comfort
Qualifications:
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and walking throughout the day
- Previous veterinary or kennel experience is a plus but not required
