Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work, utilizing welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Conduct auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, sanding, and automotive cosmetic refinishing to restore vehicles to pristine condition.
- Use hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to execute precise repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Apply auto painting techniques using airless paint spraying equipment and ensure proper blending for a seamless finish.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks including auto restoration, detailing, and assembly to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress clearly and accurately estimating repair times using auto estimating tools.
- Assist with heavy lifting and mechanical tasks related to automotive repair while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or independent shop environment. Of at least 3 years
- Strong background in auto body repair techniques such as welding (including MIG welding), sheet metal fabrication, and automotive structural repair.
- Hands-on experience with auto restoration projects, auto painting, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective diagnosis and repair of automotive damage.
- Familiarity with automotive parts installation processes and auto glass replacement procedures.
- Skilled in using various hand tools, power tools, sanding equipment, and automotive welding machinery.
- Knowledge of auto estimating software and customer service best practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of quality throughout every repair process.
