About the Position:
This position is located in Fort Benning, Georgia.
All candidates should reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. (5 CFR 575.203)
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following providing guidance on cleaning safety and/or housekeeping rules; sweeping, mopping or waxing floors; and/or performing general outdoor maintenance such as: mowing, window cleaning or snow removal without more than normal supervision without more than normal supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order)
- Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties.
- Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment.
