Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting, drainage, and water supply connections.
- Utilize field service tools including ohmmeters and welding equipment to diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or modifications.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks involving appliance repair, welding, boiler servicing, or other mechanical work as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports for accountability and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with a strong background in construction or property maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) systems with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams confidently.
- Mechanical knowledge related to refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, plumbing systems, and general equipment repair.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles and the ability to interpret blueprints or schematics for system installation or repair projects.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work in diverse environments requiring physical activity such as lifting heavy equipment or working at heights; comfort working in confined spaces is essential.
