Job Overview
As our Life Enrichment Coordinator, you’ll design and deliver engaging programs that honor each resident’s story, sparking joy, connection, and lifelong learning in our Skilled Nursing community.
The Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Director of Life Enrichment and activity team, plan, organize and facilitate group activities, and individual sessions, so that every resident enjoys regular meaningful activity, to include some evenings and weekends.
- To identify the needs of all residents individually through personal assessments, life story, and activity review. Link with families wherever possible. Understanding the interests, needs and preferences of the residents to tailor programing.
- Develops and implements activity care plans and coordination with the interdisciplinary care plan team. Completes comprehensive resident assessments for activity needs upon admission, quarterly reviews, updates, and significant changes through personal interview or interview with family/ representatives and in coordination with the care plan team. Share assessment results and care plan information with the team.
- Keeps abreast of federal and state regulations and professional standards to make recommendations for changes in policies and procedures. Reviews and develops a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
- Maintains confidentiality, reviews resident rights, and forwards complaints and issues to appropriate staff.
- Responsible for the development of the monthly activity calendar in conjunction with the Skilled Nursing Facility activity team and the Director of Life Enrichment; sharing the information through all appropriate and approved formats.
- Serves on or assists with various related committees such as Resident Council meetings and as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment.
- Produce and retain Resident Council meeting minutes reports monthly.
- Ensures that all residents are and will continue to receive care that reflects the goals and principles of “Resident Centered Care”.
- To lead the development of a culture where all residents enjoy frequent engagement and connection with others during their day, briefing key expectations to colleagues, coaching and guiding staff when necessary.
- To promote dignity for all residents, and raise understanding, leading by example.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned or required.
What You'll Bring
- Associate’s in Therapeutic Recreation —or NCCAP, OTA/OT credentials, preferably
- Communication skills and a knack for multitasking under deadlines
- Passion for older adults and creativity in meeting diverse interests
- Valid driver’s license • CPR/First Aid (or willingness to earn)
- Flexibility to adjust hours for the moments that matter most to residents
