The Dover UFSD is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, student-centered leader to serve as our Assistant Superintendent for Business & Operations. This office leads the district's financial, operational, and administrative functions, overseeing budgeting, accounting, payroll, facilities (maintenance, grounds, capital projects), transportation, dining services, technology, and risk management, ensuring fiscal health, regulatory compliance, and efficient resource allocation to support the districts mission/vision and educational goals, working closely with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
Certification:
· NYS School District Business Leader (SDBL) preferred
· NYS School District Leader (SDL) accepted
Fiscal Planning, Personnel, Relations, Operations, and Leadership:
- Key Financial Management responsibilities include the development, implementation, and management of annual budgets and long-term financial planning.
- Oversee all accounting, payroll, benefits, state aid calculations, control systems, audit requirements, and grant management as well as ensuring all state/federal compliance expectations.
- Management of risk management, direct leadership of operations and facilities as well as district purchasing, contracts, insurance programs, collective bargaining, capital projects, and financial data.
- Act as a key advisor to the Superintendent of Schools and build effective relationships with community groups, business/government agencies, and local school communities.
- Lead and support labor relations, contract negotiations, investment strategies, debt service, inventory, and operational technology.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders on operational and business-related matters.
- Prepare and present financial, statistical, and accounting reports.
- Supervise and evaluate business office personnel as well as dining service and operational leadership.
