What are the responsibilities and job description for the BCBA Elementary (2026-27SY) position at Dover, Sherborn and Dover Sherborn School Districts?
Dover and Sherborn Elementary Schools is seeking a skilled and experienced BCBA for the 2026.2027 School Year to support children, staff, and families within the elementary level. The role would be a 1.0 position split between Pine Hill-Sherborn (.8 FTE) and Chickering-Dover (.2 FTE) to support students in grades PreK-5.
The BCBA will work with special education and school-based teams on behalf of children who present with a variety of disabilities and behavioral challenges that impact their access to learning.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
*Consult with team members regarding behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations, and social skills
•Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments and other behavior assessments
•Assist staff in conducting informal functional behavioral assessments
•Conduct scheduled consults with school staff
•Develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed for individual students or small groups of students
•Establish data collection protocol and procedures
•Monitor implementation of BIPs by teachers and staff
•Assist in graphing student data
•Analyze student data to determine the efficacy of BIP and any relevant academic programming
•Observe students across school environments
•Provide training, demonstrations, and modeling to staff and families as needed
•Provide district-wide training and leadership for Safety Care.
•Assist in the development of behavior goals for IEPs
•Attend IEP meetings, parent meetings/conferences, and staff meetings as needed/requested
•Serve as a resource for instructional and support staff
•Collaborate with district administration to meet student and program needs
Qualifications:
• Current certification by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board
• Extensive knowledge and experience running ABA-based programs
• Experience with a range of disabilities across ages and grades
• At least three years of relevant public school experience
• DESE license as a School Psychologist, Speech Pathologist or Special Educator preferred
• Experience in special education, IEP development, and Team process required
• Safety Care trained
