Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For In This Role
- Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order
- Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders
- Lay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or covering
- Apply primer, paint, and caulk as needed
- Perform close up requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
