What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Tool & Die Maker position at Dover Corp?
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill press, and EDM machines.
- Machine, fit, and assemble precision tooling and verify conformance to drawing specifications.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth mics, indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, and functional gauges.
- Troubleshoot dies and recommend design improvements.
- Maintain accurate tooling documentation and records.
- Assist in troubleshooting die issues in operation to maintain quality and production.
- Work closely with engineers and other production staff to ensure that the tools and dies they produce meet the needs of the manufacturing process.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Live and Act according to our Code of Ethics and Basic Beliefs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Tool and Die Maker
- Fluent in English, SWEP's corporate language.
Personal skills
- Exposure in an ISO certified manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics.
- Able to read and interpret technical prints, sketches, and design models.
- Knowledge of metal and other material properties.
- Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving.
- Good communication skills
- PC skills (MS Office applications - Excel, Word)
