Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN)

The Infection Control Nurse is a key member of Dover Behavioral Health System who will lead the infection control and employee health programs with a keen focus on patient care and employee wellness.
Job Requirements:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Medical Director, responsible for patient and employee illnesses and monitors infections
- Serve as a key member of the hospital infection control committee, as well as deliver infection control metrics and data to the Management Team, Quality Council, Patient Safety Committee and other facility committees
- Ensure that all employees are in compliance with their PPD screening annually; Analyze and report on employee and patient infections and illness to determine any correlation between them
- Maintain the flu shot program for the facility by delivering flu shot clinics, educating staff, and tracking and reporting the facility’s flu shot data to the appropriate parties
- Meet all Joint Commission, CMS, state and local regulatory requirements and present during audits and surveys
- Develop, implement, update and enforce the hospital’s infection control policies and procedures
- Conducts infection control related training sessions, and develop a system to ensure staff are receiving annual training and stay abreast of industry changes
- Other duties as assigned
Required:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
- Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Must have a valid driver's license.
- Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of TEAM Training, including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam.
