Role Description The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Superior, WI. This role oversees all nursing services, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and clinical standards. Daily responsibilities include supervising and supporting nursing staff, coordinating staffing and scheduling, monitoring clinical outcomes, and leading quality improvement initiatives. The Director of Nursing collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families to develop and implement individualized care plans. Additional duties include managing infection prevention programs, participating in surveys and audits, mentoring clinical leaders, and contributing to budget planning and resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to oversee complex clinical care and make sound clinical judgments.
- Strong Nursing Management skills, including leadership, team development, performance management, and effective delegation.
- Experience in Long-term Care, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, person-centered practices, and geriatric care needs.
- Knowledge of Infection Control principles and practices, including prevention, surveillance, education, and compliance with guidelines.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin (or eligibility to obtain).
- Several years of progressive nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and families.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintain accurate documentation, and use electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; advanced certifications in gerontology or nursing leadership are a plus.
