As a Regional Director of Operations, you will lead and contribute to our TEAM at Dousman Transport.
Summary
- To provide leadership, management oversight and strategic direction for 10 school bus terminals, and the
company's safety and recruiting programs - Manage the operational and fiscal activities of your sites. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve
the operating quality and efficiency of your sites. - Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- To oversee objectives supporting the vision and strategic direction required for the sites to deliver on:
- safety
- business plan objectives
- financial targets
- responsive service to our customers
- opportunities for the employees to develop to their fullest potential with a strong sense of
accomplishment.
- To actively facilitate the development of a group of skilled managers who will manage and direct the organization
toward the achievement of Dousman Transport Company's (DTC) strategic objectives. - To create and maintain strong customer relationships
Requirements
- 2 Years experience in management and proven success in leadership.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the school transportation industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide visible and positive support and leadership to your sites
- Consistently communicate DTC's values, 4 Pillars of Success, and business plan objectives
- Ensure each site develops and implements the following plans that support the company strategy:
- Annual Recruiting/Retention and Community Engagement Plan
- Customer Relations Plan
- Annual Budget
- Drive efforts to ensure each site is adequately staffed with drivers
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships through regular communications and presence
- Ensure each site provides responsive service to both their internal and external customers (24-hr initial response)
- Ensure compliance with State/Federal requirements, company policies and operating procedures
- Coach, develop and provide SME advisement to managers
- Encourage and recognize superior performance
- Conduct annual performance reviews with all managers. Appropriately/promptly handle performance issues
- Oversee training program manager in the development of quarterly safety meeting agendas, tailored to each
terminal. Identify negative safety trends, and develop/oversee intervention/prevention strategies - Employee discipline
- Collaborate daily with director of maintenance and terminal managers to ensure necessary resources are available
at each terminal to fulfill all home-to-school routes, and school and public trips.

or equivalent - Have a valid Wisconsin driver's license and continuously maintain and satisfy all requirements for D license.
- Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the job including occasional to frequent walking, standing,
sitting, stooping, kneeling and crouching - Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology.
- Experience in supervising project and team activities.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to successfully complete a background
check, physical and tuberculosis test and fitness for duty/drug screen.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
