Summary:
The Director of Operations at Douglas Products is a key Senior Leadership Team member responsible for overseeing the company's Pittsburg, CA manufacturing location, supply chain, procurement, warehouse operations, quality assurance, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role optimizes operational efficiency and productivity across all platforms, ensures alignment with strategic business objectives, and maintains compliance with regulatory standards. The Director of Operations will lead initiatives to ensure the Douglas Products SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) requirements are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to ensure the safety of our employees, the manufacturing site, and broader community.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place to meet regulatory and environmental requirements at our facility 100% of the time.
- Drive continuous improvements in operational processes across all areas, including production, supply chain, and warehouse operations, to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize profitability.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring they are efficiently integrated with manufacturing processes and logistics. Implement systems to manage inventory accurately, streamline warehouse logistics, and optimize storage solutions.
- Manage the entire manufacturing supply chain, including inventory and production planning from procurement to product delivery, including overseeing logistics strategies and relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
- Work closely with other Douglas leaders to integrate operational activities with broader business strategies. Maintain strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support operational goals.
- Develop and manage the Operations budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with strategic priorities and financial targets. Track spending, forecast financial needs, and provide regular budgetary updates to Chief Financial and Executive Officers.
- Develop and execute our annual capital plan to ensure facility maintenance, growth, and strategic projects are accomplished to meet our operational and financial goals.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Operations and Warehouse teams. Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and foster a collaborative work environment that promotes growth and accountability.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Director of Operations will have detailed supervisory responsibilities, including:
- Provide strategic leadership to both Pittsburg operations and warehouse management teams.
- Develop and enforce professional development plans for staff, including training and career advancement opportunities.
- Conduct performance reviews, offer feedback, and recognize staff achievements.
- Ensure company policies and safety standards are adhered to across all operational and warehouse activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field. Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations, including significant leadership experience in managing plant operations or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing mid-scale operations, including RMP facilities, safety and environmental leadership, and warehouse management in a manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading diverse teams and interfacing effectively with all company levels.

Expected Hours of Work:
- Work hours frequently extend beyond an 8-hour day and 40-hour week.
- Evening, late night, and weekend hours are occasionally required.
- Always available assist with plant issues and leadership discussions.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel long distances via plane or automobile required.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time required.
- Overnight travel required.
- Ability to travel within and outside the United States is required.
