About The Role
As a Guest Services Shift Leader, you’ll help lead our Guest Services team and keep the salon running smoothly. Reporting to the Ann Arbor Regional Director, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming, seamless experience for every guest.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and support the Guest Services team.
- Oversee front desk operations, guest care, retail, scheduling, and daily salon flow.
- Create an efficient Guest Services schedule and support opening and closing procedures.
- Welcome guests with warmth and provide seamless check-in and check-out experiences.
- Recommend and schedule guests’ next appointments to support retention.
- Serve as a resource for technicians when salon leadership is unavailable.
- Support retail and supply orders, timecard adjustments, cash handling, deposits, and returns.
- Maintain an inviting retail environment and stay knowledgeable about our products and services.
- Participate in ongoing training to provide confident, personalized product recommendations.
Requirements
- A confident, positive leader who leads by example.
- Strong coaching and team-support skills.
- Previous retail and/or customer service experience required; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Professional, polished presentation aligned with Douglas J and the salon industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is a plus.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and naturally personable.
- Reliable transportation for bank deposits.
- Flexibility to work full-time, including evenings and Saturdays.
