Class A CDL Delivery Driver (Local – Home Daily)
Douglas Express Delivery is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our growing team. This is a local, home-daily, day-shift position delivering freight to customer locations throughout the service area. Drivers are paired with a Driver Helper who assists with unloading freight using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and liftgate equipment.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Complete scheduled local delivery routes and return home daily.
- Work alongside a Driver Helper to unload freight at customer locations.
- Deliver freight using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and liftgate equipment.
- Verify freight counts and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and protected during transit.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Complete delivery paperwork, logs, and electronic documentation accurately.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and management.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL License.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience preferred.
- Previous delivery or touch-freight experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with a Driver Helper as part of a delivery team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and liftgate equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver freight with assistance from a Driver Helper.
- Ability to enter and exit the tractor multiple times throughout the day.
- Frequent walking, bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and customer environments.
