Head of Maintenance - Days Creek School District
Days Creek School District seeks qualified applicants for the Head Maintenance position beginning in July 2026. 8 hours per day, 8 days per week, year-round.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Pay Rate: $26.50 - $31.56 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the administration of all Maintenance and Operation of Days Creek School District, including the hiring, supervision and evaluation of custodial staff and the related trainings, programs and related work as necessary. To maintain the facilities, equipment, and grounds in a safe and operable condition through upkeep and repair, so that full educational use of facilities is always available. Students will function in a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient school in which to learn, play and develop.
DUTIES

•Assumes the responsibility for the safe conditions of heating and cooling systems, water systems, waste disposal systems, electrical systems, fuel/water supplies and structural elements of District facilities to include the Vocational Agricultural Buildings and grounds.
•Plans and assigns work schedules, develops timelines, and provides supervision, direction, and follow-up on installations and major repair work performed by district personnel.
•Assumes responsibility for major upkeep, mowing and renovation of grounds, and for repair and maintenance of roadways and parking areas.
•Coordinates game day preparations with the Athletic Director.
•Organizes, directs, reviews and supervises a preventive maintenance program for all systems and properties. This to include the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
•Performs daily custodial duties. Recommends priorities on repairs, purchases and construction to the Superintendent.
•Maintains records for Oregon Building Performance Standards, asbestos, and any hazardous chemicals stored on campus.
•Estimates cost of projects in terms of labor and material, and prepares reports on cost of work completed, materials used, and labor expected.
•Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase for Maintenance Department and maintains a coordinated inventory control of district owned tools, materials, equipment, vehicles and supplies.
•Prepares and controls the budget for the Maintenance Department.
•Works cooperatively with the Transportation Supervisor in ensuring that all district vehicles and equipment used for Maintenance are in good operating condition.
•Recommends to the Superintendent for hiring of custodial staff and trains when necessary.
•Advises the Superintendent on the need to hire contractors to perform certain services.
•Supervises and inspects the improvement and renovation work performed by outside contractors and verifies that terms of all such contracts have been fulfilled before authorizing final payment.
•Develops and maintains building construction standards and specifications. Assures that all construction meets the standards and specifications as defined.
•Estimates all in-house construction and maintains up-dated records, plans and drawings.
•Coordinates day/night and weekend maintenance, security and custodial programs and is on call 24/7 (or delegated) as needed to ensure continued and effective functioning of the district facilities.
•Ensures that educational time for students is not interrupted unnecessarily.
•In partnership with the Superintendent, establishes and maintains the Crisis Management Plan for school security and emergency evacuation/lockdown procedures.
•Performs such additional duties and assumes responsibilities as the Superintendent or the Governing Board may assign.
QUALIFICATIONS
•High school diploma or GED
•At least one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Possess the ability to perform all functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
•Must have or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Drivers license.
