What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Refrigeration Technician / Food Service Equipment Technician position at Douglas Equipment?
National Foodservice Equipment Dealer looking for a refrigeration technician with experience in commercial refrigeration. Pay will be VERY COMPETITIVE! Additional compensation if you have service experience with cooking equipment as well.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, including but not limited to: refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and walk-in coolers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems and components
- Install new refrigeration systems and equipment as needed
- Follow schematics and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and repair procedures
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed

- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including understanding of HVAC/R principles
- Familiarity with various types of refrigeration equipment and their components
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions
- Certification or degree in HVAC or related field is REQUIRED
