Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Maintenance: Install, repair, and replace underground conduit, duct banks, cabling, and transformers.
- Excavation & Labor: Dig trenches and holes, often in tight, dark, or confined spaces, to access underground lines.
- Cable Work: Pull and splice underground cables
- Safety Adherence: Identify underground utilities, maintain safety protocols, and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to avoid electrical hazards or gas lines.
- Equipment Operation: Operate tools such as trenchers, excavators, skidsteers.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift over 50 lbs, work in varied weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
- Skills: Knowledge of electrical theory, cable termination, and reading blueprints.
- Certification/Licensing: Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is often required to operate company vehicles.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and handle on-call duties.
Typical Environment
- Works outdoors and in underground confined spaces (vaults, manholes).
- Exposed to noise, dust, vibration, and extreme temperatures
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
