This position is for City of Springfield employees ONLY.
The City of Springfield is seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven, and well-rounded Senior City Planner to join a team of dedicated professional planners in the Planning and Development Department's Development Review Office. The Senior Planner will work in the Development Review Office assisting in the Pre-Development Review process to review building site plans for zoning ordinance compliance. This position will also provide customer service interaction with our citizens and the development community. The Senior Planner requires experience in using ArcGIS (Geographical Informational Systems) mapping program. The position also requires strong communication skills both verbally and in writing form.

Qualifications And Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with specialization in Urban Planning or Design, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Public Administration or a related field; AND
- At least two years of appropriate experience.
- A Master's Degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) membership or Landscape Architect Registration (RLA or CLA) is desired, but not required.
