Job Description
Provides leadership, management, and oversight of the high school JROTC program. Directs all instructional, administrative, operational, and logistical functions of the unit and serves as the department chair and chief instructor. The position ensures effective program delivery and compliance with U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC), district, state, and federal regulations while promoting cadet leadership, citizenship, and personal development.
Equipment And Vehicles Used
Obtain and maintain license on Multifunctional School Activity Bus (M-SAB) to support transportation to and from JROTC events less than 14 passengers
Supervisory Duties
Supervise and evaluate all Army Instructors (AI)
Essential Environmental Demands
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Monitor student progress and provide mentorship and guidance
Perform other related duties as assigned to support program objectives
Direct and manage all instructional and operational functions of the JROTC department
Serve as Department Chairperson and chief instructor for the JROTC unit
Plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum and instructional activities
Ensure compliance with USACC regulations, Douglas County School District policies, and Director of Army Instruction (DAI) guidance
Develop and execute procedures for program administration, operations, and logistics
Maintain required records, reports, inventories, and program documentation
Supervise daily program activities, schedules, resources, and equipment
Coordinate training, drills, ceremonies, and leadership development activities
Establish and maintain a structured, disciplined, and professional learning environment
Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, administrators, and military leadership
Work Experience
Retired U.S. Army Officer or Chief Warrant Officer in the rank of O-4 to O-6 or CW3 to CW5 | Not Required
Certifications
Certified by U.S. Army Cadet Command as a JROTC Instructor - United States Army, CO Teacher License - Colorado Department of Education, Valid Army JROTC Teaching Permit required and must be maintained - United States Army
