Job Description:
Behavior Specialists have the knowledge, skills and passion to consult and problem-solve with staff, students and families when students are faced with challenging behaviors. They will work as a team with the other Behavior Specialists, Coaches, Feeder Coordinators, teachers, school staff and the Coordinator of Health, Wellness, Prevention & Behavior Supports to ensure seamless support through the MTSS framework. They are skilled consultants who collaborate with school teams on crafting comprehensive functional behavior assessments and behavior plans across a multi-tiered system of support. This includes observing, analyzing data, identifying lagging skills, developing student goals based on replacement behaviors, and building on students' strengths. They will model communication of and implementation of behavior intervention plans. They develop and facilitate trainings to meet the needs of the district as a whole or more focused to meet the needs of individual schools, or school teams. They are knowledgeable about: special education law, managing behavior, and the process utilized when students need additional support.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Implement processes and monitor fidelity of implementation of service delivery model pertinent to area of expertise, to ensure all student needs are appropriately identified and services are provided as outlined through the MTSS process.
Use school data and feeder data to support programing for a comprehensive MTSS system.
Identify school needs and building supports related to universal and tier 2 supports.
Develop, assess, and manage student caseload as defined by MTSS systems identified by the Student Support Services MTSS systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Collaborate with Student Support Services leadership team to identify system needs (MTSS) to meet the unique needs of all learners.
Identify and coordinate specific professional development needs of building teams, staff, counselors and teachers.
Certifications:
Special Education Generalist license - Colorado Department of Education, Teacher License - School Psychologist - Colorado Department of Education, Teacher License - School Social Worker - Colorado Department of Education
Education:
Bachelor's Degree: Special Education (Required)
Skills:

- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
