Job Summary:
This position provides support for the Douglas County Lighthouse Museum operations and gift shop setting by performing a variety of customer service and clerical duties. The position provides a positive visitor experience, processes customer transactions, takes and fills orders, and maintains cleanliness and appearance of the assigned area. Position may assist with special events, programs and/or activities related to the museum and gift shop areas.

- Greet visitors, providing information about the museum and gift shop offerings
- Assist with merchandise inquiries, take and/or fill coffee-bar beverage orders, and processes customer transactions
- Work behind and in front of a counter with small work space
- Perform sales of merchandise; process payments using point-of-sale system(s) in accordance with County policy; count money and make change
- Assist with the arrangement and display of merchandise and pricing
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of gift shop and surrounding areas
- Answer phones, relay messages, maintain records, retrieve products and supplies, stock merchandise, prepare and/or fill orders

Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required, will be considered. however, the following is preferred:
- High school graduation or equivalency supplemented with experience in customer service and working in an office setting
- Experience working in a retail setting and processing cash/credit/debit sales.
- Oregon Food Handler Card is required at time of employment.
