Work involves supporting event operations, maintaining buildings, barns, arenas, and public areas, and assisting with setup, teardown, and upkeep of fairgrounds facilities year-round.
Generally, the hiring range is $39,464-$49,330 annually. Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary.
This position includes an annual clothing allowance of $150.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)
- Maintain Venue quality, consisting of maintaining the look of the facility and working with internal departments to assist in the facilitation of smooth and successful events.
- Performs semi-skilled and skilled work involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical, and general building repair across fairgrounds facilities.
- Assists with the upkeep and safe operation of building systems and equipment including HVAC, lighting, water systems, and public restrooms.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on barns, stables, arenas, bleachers, grandstands, and outdoor structures.
- Supports event operations by setting up and tearing down equipment, furniture, pens, fencing, and signage for fairs, rodeos, livestock shows, and other public events.
- Provides custodial services for public areas including restrooms, meeting spaces, barns, stalls, concession areas, and arenas before, during, and after events.
- Responds to urgent maintenance needs during events to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
- Maintains fairgrounds landscaping including snow and ice removal, weed control, and trash removal across grounds, sidewalks, and parking areas.
- Operates light equipment and vehicles such as utility carts, tractors, lifts, and pickup trucks to transport materials, supplies, and waste.
- Monitors supply inventories and assists with ordering and restocking building and custodial supplies for fairgrounds operations.
- Ensures County vehicles and equipment are properly maintained by cleaning interiors/exteriors and following service schedules.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Generally, a high school diploma or GED
- One year of building maintenance experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for a well-qualified candidate.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment.

In the event of an emergency/disaster in or near the County, all County employees are expected to make every effort to be available to assist the County Manager, Elected/Appointed Officials and Department Directors to ensure the continued operation of any and all necessary County functions. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.
