What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic II position at Dougherty County?
The Dougherty County Public Works Department has a vacancy for a Mechanic II.Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to repairing County vehicles, including heavy equipment such as repairing brakes, replacing, and repairing engines and transmissions, repairing electrical and air conditioning systems. Employee is responsible for maintenance work on vehicles and equipment such as tune-ups, repairing tires, changing, and storing oil and changing filters. Performs other related duties as assigned.Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with six (6) months of experience as a gasoline/diesel mechanic and one (1) year of specialized training in diesel, gas, and small engine repair; or any related equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Georgia Commercial Driver’s License. Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) desired.
