Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your expertise in forklift operation, inventory management, and warehouse operations will help us deliver exceptional service to our customers while supporting seamless supply chain flow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a robust food safety program. Ability to work in our freezer for several hours per day is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, and organize goods throughout the facility.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders using inventory management software.
- Accurately document all inbound and outbound shipments through data entry in warehouse management systems and maintain detailed records of shipping & receiving activities.
- Prepare items for shipment by picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders according to customer specifications and shipping logistics requirements.
- Conduct inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy within warehouse distribution systems.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to optimize order fulfillment processes while adhering to trade compliance and international trade regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment by following safety protocols and performing routine inspections of equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Certain times per day/ per week will require working on the production floor with our team packing items and palletizing cases of product.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on shipping & receiving operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with warehouse information systems..
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including order picking & packing, load & unload procedures, and stocking techniques.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records of shipments and inventory levels.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members across logistics functions.
