About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Superintendent/ Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems in commercial buildings. The ideal candidate is hands-on, responsive, customer-focused, and eager to continue developing their technical expertise in building operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair building systems, including HVAC equipment, air handlers, return and exhaust fans, VAV boxes, hot water generators, pumps, and related controls.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant and vendor service requests.
- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance logs and reports.
- Develop proficiency in at least one of the following trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general building maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and promptly report all unsafe conditions or observed building risks.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills.
- Support after-hours emergency response and perform overtime work as needed.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, neat, and safe condition.
- Communicate effectively with the Property Manager regarding building conditions, tenant issues, and maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and assist with obtaining and reviewing bids as directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or relevant technical school graduate.
- 2–4 years of experience performing maintenance in commercial buildings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient with basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet research tools).
- Familiarity with building drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge of building systems.
- Availability to work overtime and respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Pay: $62,400.00 - $72,800.00 per year
