WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A PERMIT COORDINATOR?
As a Permit Coordinator with our plumbing company, your day kicks off by reviewing newly approved jobs to determine whether permits are needed. You dive into the details-gathering everything from customer and contractor info to job descriptions, fixture counts, costs, and town-specific forms. With a sharp eye for documentation, you make sure every permit application is complete, including license photos, COIs, and workers' comp details. You coordinate with insurance agents, submit through town portals, and track each permit's progress like a hawk-following up by email, portal, or phone as needed. Throughout the day, you're also juggling inspection schedules, educating homeowners about municipal timelines, and ensuring a licensed plumber is ready for each appointment. After inspections, you confirm results, update internal workflows, and alert the team so billing and job completion can move forward. It's a detail-driven, fast-paced role where your organization and follow-through keep everything flowing smoothly behind the scenes.
