Position Details:
Our team is looking for an experienced Prep Cook who is familiar with a wide range of cooking techniques. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, following recipes, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. You will assist in various kitchen duties, including cutting vegetables, measuring ingredients, and ensuring all food items are properly stored. This role is crucial in supporting the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and follow recipes according to how they’re written.
- Consistently providing quality food preparation and service
- Providing speed, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen, prep and dish areas, and equipment.
- Understanding and proper use of recipes and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining Health Department cleanliness and safety standards
- Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served.
- Keep all workstations, counters, cooking equipment, and refrigerators clean and sanitary according to health and safety rules.
- Set up cooking stations and fill them with all the essential preparation items for a shift.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of cooking experience preferred.
- Fine-dining preparation experience preferred.
- Clear and polite communication skills with a positive attitude
- Ability to operate necessary kitchen equipment.
- Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification.
- Previous experience working in food service is preferred.
- Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 hours. Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.
