- DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance - South Bay is looking for a Catering Manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, customer service oriented and engaged. $60k - $65k Salary plus gratuity program (potential of up to $10k). Flexible schedule is a must, to include weekends, day/night shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
Responsible for soliciting new accounts, maintaining relationships with existing accounts, achieving budgeted goals in food & beverage and rental goals.
- Meet with, and call clients to solicit catering business, both social, corporate or individual market as assigned. Follow up with sales contacts to prepare banquet event orders (BEO) for event; Oversee and ensure successful events from start to finish, including preparation, contracts, BEO, payment, guarantees, room blocks/rates, etc.
- Must consistently exhibit a professional demeanor in all interactions with guests, team members, and all hotel ownership and/or management and its representatives.
- Develop client menus with the Executive Chef; Compose contracts and letters, prepare/type BEOs, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events, with proper approval. Upsell of services.
- Supervise and attend the overall set-up and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts, details of functions, billing, proper checks and food & beverage meetings.
- Check on client functions, greet clients, and ensure effective and professional communication, handle guest concerns and challenges effectively and professionally.
- Courteously answer incoming phone calls from persons inquiring about the rental of guest rooms and/or meeting space and/or purchase of on-site hotel catering.
- Ability to input data into Delphi, maintain accurate information, block meeting space, update menu records, provide account information to various departments in a timely manner (i.e., BEOs, changes, etc.).
- Consistent communication with all appropriate departments to coordinate and monitor guest room blocks and special reservation requirements.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years experience in a fast-paced Catering Office in a mid-size upscale hotel property
- Delphi.ffd experience/proficiency, preferred
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, etc.
- Prior Hilton/DoubleTree experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Social market is a plus!
- Adept to overall food & beverage and catering operations
- Regular attendance in conformance with DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance - South Bay is essential to the successful performance of this position.
