What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Utility position at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa?
The maintenance department is in charge of all hotel repairs and preventive maintenance in public areas, guest rooms, support areas, machinery, equipment, and grounds.
Position Requirements:
Able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds for the purposes of installing and maintaining equipment, fixtures, and furniture; retrieving and storing supplies. Able to assist with the evacuation of hotel guests and other emergency procedures. Able to drive a motor vehicle. Able to reach fully to the front, sides and overhead for the purposes of installing and maintaining equipment, fixtures, and furniture and for retrieving and storing supplies. Able to safely climb footstools and ladders. Is able to work in a kneeling position for up to two hours per day.
Able to safely and efficiently use common hand tools and electrical tools. Able to bend and squat while performing maintenance tasks. Able to safely work in high places, such as rooftops; and able to work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces. Able to wear protective clothing and equipment, such as gloves, respirators, and eyewear. Able to work safely with caustic chemicals used for cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance.
Position Summary:
The maintenance utility person performs maintenance and cleaning tasks in a timely manner, at the direction of the maintenance supervisor and coordination with other department managers and front desk staff. The maintenance utility person reports to the maintenance supervisor.
Overview of Responsibilities among others:
Be knowledgable of hotel features, amenities, and services. Be knowledgable on the use of tools, chemicals, supplies and related materials. Use hotel supplies and materials efficiently and safely. Promptly report deficiencies in maintenance that may have a negative effect on guest comfort or maintenance expenses to management. Coordinate access to guestrooms and timeliness of guestroom maintenance with housekeeping and front office departments.
