We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Loader Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of materials, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation, demonstrating both mechanical knowledge and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Duties
Operating the Wheel Loader:
- Skillfully maneuver the wheel loader to scoop, lift and transport materials to designated areas.
- Accurately position the bucket to load trucks, stockpile materials, or fill excavations.
- Adjust bucket angle and position to efficiently handle different types of materials.
Pre-shift Inspections and Maintenance:
- Conduct through pre-shift inspections of the wheel loader, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights and operational functionality.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks like greasing, lubricating, and cleaning the machine.
- Report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to maintenance personnel.
Safety Procedures:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while operating the wheel loader.
- Maintain awareness of surrounding work areas and other personnel on site.
- Signal intentions clearly when maneuvering the loader.
- Maintain a clean working environment inside the loader along with the area you are working in.
- Maintain a slow and steady speed while operating the wheel loader.
Site Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with other team members including truck drivers, to ensure smooth loading.
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding material placement and work priorities.
Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods while operating equipment
- Climbing in and out of the loader multiple times a day
- Good hand-eye coordination & depth perception
- Ability to use hands and feet continuously for steering, shifting, and operating controls
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds for maintenance, tools or materials
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, push, pull and reach as needed
- Ability to walk on uneven ground and maintain balance when climbing ladders or equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Good vision & hearing for safe operation around people and equipment
- Ability to tolerate vibration, noise, and long work shifts.
Skills
