Responsibilities
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles under various conditions.
- Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs as needed to prepare vehicles for towing or roadside assistance.
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or specialized lifting tools, ensuring secure transport.
- Assist customers with roadside emergencies by providing prompt, courteous service and clear communication.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and customer interactions for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and equipment to ensure safety compliance and proper functioning.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service skills while resolving issues efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed or heavy-duty models.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with automotive diagnostics and repair skills.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and commercial driving licenses (CDL) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair, load & unload procedures, and vehicle recovery techniques.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly through effective conflict management and customer service skills.
- Previous mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive diagnostics is highly advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is a plus.
