Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift

POSITION PURPOSE: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. This position supports manufacturing operations through preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Diagnose, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Conduct machine overhauls, rebuilds, and equipment upgrades as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical drawings to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, switches, control circuits, and related equipment.
  • Respond promptly to production maintenance requests from operations, quality, and supervisory personnel.
  • Install, modify, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks within the IQMS/CMMS system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and team members.
  • Assist with training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel.
  • Support weekend operations and serve as maintenance lead when assigned.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, GMP, and OSHA requirements.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and machine blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, climb, and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work with hot equipment and moving machinery.
  • Work around oil, grease, dust, and manufacturing materials while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces as required.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.

QUALITY STANDARDS:
Maintain a clean and safe work area. Must comply with plant GMPs and quality rules.

SAFETY:
Maintain proper safety standards according to established OSHA and Double H policies. Must properly use all safety equipment (i.e., proper use of personal protective gear including gloves and safety glasses).
