Job Overview
Double H Construction is a small family-owned company specializing in cleaning and inspecting underground utilities.
The Utility Technician I supports underground utility cleaning and inspection projects by assisting with equipment setup, site cleanup, material handling, and general field operations. This is a hands-on, entry-level role for someone who is dependable, willing to work outdoors, and ready to be part of a hardworking team.
Based in Clayton, NC, work is primarily local in the Triangle area, with regular out-of-town day travel, and occasional overnight travel 1-2 times per year.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cleaning underground utilities, including sewer and storm systems.
- Help set up and take down hoses, nozzles, cameras, and other job-site equipment.
- Assist with CCTV inspection work, including running cables and setting up inspection equipment.
- Perform general site cleanup and material handling.
- Help clean and maintain trucks, tools, and equipment.
- Support the crew with other general labor duties as needed.
Requirements
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Valid driver's license is required. [CDL is preferred.]
- Pass a pre-employment drug test, followed by random testing
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (work outside these hours is common)
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay is $20 per hour.
