Summary
As an Outside Sales & Project Manager, you’ll manage the full sales and project lifecycle — from developing customer relationships and securing work to overseeing projects through completion. This is a highly autonomous role best suited for someone comfortable managing their own accounts, projects, and schedule.
You’ll work closely with builders, contractors, remodelers, and homeowners while coordinating estimating, material ordering, scheduling, and installation support. The role combines relationship-driven sales, field work, and project management with the backing of an experienced operational support team.
Responsibilities
• Prospect and secure new business opportunities in residential and commercial sectors
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with builders, contractors, and property managers
• Manage flooring projects from initial inquiry through final installation
• Accurately measure jobs via blueprint take-offs or on-site visits
• Create estimates, pricing, and purchase orders
• Coordinate schedules between customers, installers, and vendors
• Oversee job progress to ensure quality and timeline standards are met
• Stay informed on industry trends and product offerings
• Assist with invoicing and payment follow-up when necessary
Qualifications
• Experience in flooring sales/project management role
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, take-offs, and construction processes
• Builder account or outside sales experience preferred
• QuickBooks experience is a plus but not required
• Measure Square or other take-off software experience is a plus but not required
