Job Description:
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 6 years of hands-on experience in cloud systems engineering, with at least 4 years dedicated to enterprise AWS infrastructure.
- Incident Ownership: 2 years of demonstrable experience participating in or leading technical incident response bridges for high-severity cloud outages.
- AWS Core Mastery: Deep hands-on proficiency in VPC design (subnets, route tables, peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), IAM policies, EC2/ALB architectures, and microservices/containers (EKS/ECS).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced expertise in Terraform (modular architectures, state management) or AWS CloudFormation/CDK.
- Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Go for automation, telemetry collection, and incident remediation.
- Tooling: Strong background using PagerDuty/Opsgenie, Jira/ServiceNow ITSM, and enterprise observability platforms (CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written technical communication skills; capable of producing crisp executive-level incident summaries and technical deep-dive RCAs.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Methodology: Practical experience operating within ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change Management) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (SLOs/SLIs).
- Security: Prior experience managing regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001).
