The Fields Corner Crossroads Collaborative sponsors this Children’s Health Equity (CHEq) grant-funded position. The Crossroads Project Coordinator will support the final two years of the 3-year implementation of the CHEq scope of services planning initiative. Crossroads Collaborative aims to develop a shared platform and implement a plan that unites Fields Corner’s diverse communities to outline issues/policies that stabilize low- income and working-class residents, especially children. Our eight organizations represent anchor institutions within the neighborhood that connect work on affordable housing, anti-gentrification, economic justice, healthcare, youth development, early education, and anti-violence.

The Youth Coordinator is responsible for managing Crossroads’ Youth Council, administering, and delivering programs related to the Council and the Collaborative’s goals. The Youth Coordinator is responsible for taking notes and maintaining records to track Youth Council Program progress and accomplishments and ensure timelines are being met. They should have a broad knowledge of current social justice issues related to youth. The Youth Coordinator works collaboratively with Crossroads’ staff, Collaborative members, and community partners to carry out the responsibilities below and reports to the Project Director.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Youth Council Coordination & Leadership

? Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Youth Council, including planning and facilitating the monthly Youth Council meetings.

? Support Youth Council members and interns by providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship in collaboration with the Project Director.

? Facilitate workshops, trainings, and leadership development opportunities, ensuring learning objectives are clear and measurable.

? Assist Youth Council members in planning virtual town halls and community engagement events.

? Create outreach materials and lead recruitment efforts for Youth Council members.

? Monitor program activities and prepare monthly program reports and updates.

Participatory Budgeting & Events

? In partnership with the Director, facilitate the design and implementation of the annual Young Leaders Symposium and youth-led team projects.

? Help oversee the $100,000 Participatory Budget process, including youth-led planning and evaluation.

Communication & Media Management

? Manage and maintain the Youth Council’s social media presence.

? Review and approve posts in coordination with the Youth Board Content Manager.

? Contribute to the planning and development of the monthly Crossroads newsletter.

? Assist in crafting and sharing youth-related content and program updates with the broader community.

Evaluation & Documentation

? Track and document Youth Council program sessions using sign-in sheets, meeting minutes, debrief notes, photos, and other appropriate means.

? Meet weekly with the Project Manager and Youth Coordinator for pre-implementation check-ins and reflection.

? Participate in internal evaluation efforts and help integrate feedback into ongoing programming.

Meetings & Learning

? Attend and take notes during Youth Development Subcommittee meetings.

? Attend community meetings and share relevant updates with Crossroads partners as needed.

? Attend learning sessions coordinated by Boston Children’s Hospital Health Equity and Atrius Health Equity Foundation as needed.

? Meet regularly with the Project Manager to debrief and discuss key takeaways from learning sessions and broader youth engagement strategy.

Community Partnerships

? Expand and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen recruitment, programming, and youth opportunities.

Requirements


? High school diploma or equivalent

? Knowledge of and interest in health equity, social determinants of health, and health ecosystems

? Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)

? Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Slides)

? Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills

? Experience working with young people ages 14–25

? Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

? Comfort working in a startup environment; able to stay grounded and organized while remaining flexible and open to changing demands

? Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications

? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field

? Experience developing and implementing youth-centered programming and youth development curricula

? Experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)

? Bilingual speaker a plus (not required)

? Understanding of Boston’s youth organizing network strongly preferred

Salary : $46,100 - $69,200
