Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing high-quality eye care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing various diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures and possess excellent communication skills.

Duties:
- Conduct preliminary tests on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision tests
- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper lens insertion and removal techniques
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Obtain patient medical history and document relevant information accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic area
- Adhere to aseptic techniques when handling instruments and equipment
- Provide support to the optometrist during examinations and procedures
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer their questions

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or optometry clinic is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with pediatric eye care is a plus
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry is a plus

We offer competitive compensation based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
