The Convenience Store Team Member plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring efficient daily store operations. This position requires a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented individual who can multitask in a fast-paced retail environment. Team members are responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked store while providing prompt and courteous service to all customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Greets customers warmly and assists with product selection and inquiries. Responds appropriately to customer issues.
- Demonstrates and explains merchandise, suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs. Assists customers with purchase decisions.
- Answers customer’s questions about merchandise. Uses suggestive selling techniques to upsell featured items, boost store sales and promote store specials and loyalty programs.
Sales and Cash Handling
- Accurately operates cash register or point of sale devices. Collects and processes cash, credit and digital payments using the store point of sale system.
- Handles refunds, exchanges and voids transactions according to company policy.
- Maintains awareness of loss prevention and theft prevention procedures.
- Follows all state and federal regulations for gas, alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales.
Merchandising and Inventory
- Stocks shelves, coolers and displays to ensure products are readily available. Assists with inventory counts and receiving deliverables.
- Rotates Merchandise following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Checks expiration dates and removes outdated products.
Store Maintenance and Safety
- Maintains cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, food prep areas and exterior.
- Follows food safety and sanitation guidelines when preparing food or beverages.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and store policies. Reports equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Teamwork and Operations
- Collaborates with team members to maintain smooth shift operations. Adapts to flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Prompt and regular attendance on required shifts. Maintains a clean and polished appearance. Adheres to uniform and dress code policies.
- Supports management with daily, operational tasks. Follows opening and closing procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
