PREPRESS/GRAPHIC SERVICES COORDINATORJOB DIMENSIONS
- Reports to the Print Services Manager
- To efficiently expedite the print side of our products through Dorn’s processes
- To produce the customerrequested design and layout needed for printing
- Responsible for producing and delivering correct design and layout for each color project.
- Use scanning technology for creating quality color proofs that can be plated and printed for producing color matches of all standards that are categorized as Overprints.
- Make sure that all electronic file specifications are compatible with Dorn’s Mac and the printer’s production process. Maintain the Mac and digitally archive all electronic files for future use.
- Plan with the Print Services Manager and the Printer (internal or external) for producing each color project according to the customer’s requirements and Dorn's production specifications.
- Responsible for proofreading all copy for content and color.
- Schedule, manage, and deliver the required design/layout according to the production/printing schedule.
- Act as a liaison between Project Managers and Dorn's internal Printing Department as well as outside printers..
- Be flexible to meet with outside printers and apply knowledge/expertise in pressproofing/checks.
- Be a resource for marketing and other creative solutions.
- Teanwork is critical. All departments are interdependent and need to be well coordinated in understanding the customer’s requirements for successful execution.
- Have a deep understanding of how the production of print will successfully align with what is required of Coating, Cutting, Mounting and Bindery.
- Ensure that typeset and print proofs are accurate and available to the customer in a timely fashion in line with Dorn’s requirements.
- Develop and maintain a strong line of communication with Project Management and the Press Department.
- Complete agreed upon annual goals and objectives as part of the employee performance review process.
- Strong foundation with the multicolor offset printing industry
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of prepress workflow software.
- Preflight and correct art files per company procedure with regards to file management
- Work with Printing Press Operators on all plating and file issues in plant.
- Have the ability to troubleshoot and prepare client files for print
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Successful candidate must be proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and Word.
