We're seeking an Event Sales & Venue Manager for Dilboy Hall and Heritage Hall at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Somerville, MA. This is a unique ground-floor opportunity to build your own client base while managing two beautifully renovated event spaces with significant earning potential.
The Opportunity
- Launch a high-demand venue business in a market with limited competition (Somerville/Cambridge area)
- Manage two distinct spaces: Dilboy Hall (luxury, 250 guests) and Heritage Hall (intimate, 125 guests)
- Work independently with flexible hours—set your own schedule and manage your own workflow
- Earn a competitive base stipend ($1,000/month) 10-25% commission on rental revenue
What You'll Do
- Lead sales and client relations: respond to inquiries, conduct site tours, develop proposals, close deals
- Generate leads through networking, partnerships, and outreach to wedding planners, corporate clients, and local organizations
- Manage all event logistics: scheduling, vendor coordination, staffing, liquor licensing, and police detail compliance
- Oversee venue operations: maintain calendars, coordinate cleaning/maintenance, manage inventory
- Execute marketing strategies across online listings, social media, and local partnerships
- Handle administrative duties: contracts, invoicing, performance reporting
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in event planning, venue management, or event sales
- Strong understanding of event logistics and vendor coordination
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple events
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and passion for growing a business
- Comfortable managing liquor licenses, compliance, and city regulations
- Event management/CRM software experience a plus
