S&OP Planning Intern

Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a S&OP Planning Intern based in Indianapolis, IN. This role will report directly to the Purchasing Manager. S&OP Planning Intern is responsible for supporting supply chain operations through hands-on projects in planning, procurement, and warehouse optimization. The intern will gain comprehensive exposure to manufacturing operations, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and work cross-functionally to enhance efficiency in replenishment systems, layout design, and inventory management.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $ 19.00-$ 23.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

What you will do

• Gain hands-on experience across assembly/manufacturing, planning/procurement, and warehouse/shipping operations while learning Supply Chain Operations Governance and Performance Management
• Lead picking efficiency and replenishment improvement projects by collaborating with Visual Systems, procurement, and master data teams to optimize high-volume parts and lot sizes
• Conduct weight and dimensions analysis to support data accuracy and system optimization initiatives
• Support layout optimization projects including shipping department redesign, warehouse racking system improvements, and cart/tugger system implementation
• Drive process improvements in line pick-up/drop-off operations and warehouse accuracy through simplification initiatives

What we require

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Completion of at least sophomore year with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• On-site presence required 5 days per week at our Indianapolis, IN facility
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments

What we prefer

• Degree concentration in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management
• Previous internship or work experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or supply chain operations
• Familiarity with ERP systems, warehouse management software, or process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Demonstrated leadership experience through campus organizations or previous roles
