Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer based in Indianapolis, IN. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring high-quality standards through lean manufacturing principles and process innovation. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement and implement automation solutions.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $100,000 to $130,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Optimize manufacturing processes and workflows using lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Design, evaluate, and enhance equipment, tooling, and automation solutions to increase production reliability and performance
• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, process documentation, and quality control measures to ensure compliance and consistency
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement and reduce defects
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to integrate new technologies and support production goals

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably in a high-volume production environment
• Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling design, automation, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and data-driven decision-making tools

WHAT WE PREFER

• Experience in automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 manufacturing technologies
• Certification in Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing, or a related discipline
• Prior experience working with regulatory compliance, safety standards, and environmental requirements in manufacturing
• Strong project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and implementing new production processes
Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CME) or AESF/CEF certification in electroplating and surface finishing technologies
